What the company does
Nutanix sells infrastructure software that lets organizations run applications, data and AI workloads across their own data centers, the edge and public clouds from one platform, the Nutanix Cloud Platform. The company states that it pioneered hyperconverged infrastructure, which combines compute, storage and networking in software, and it later built its own hypervisor, Nutanix AHV. It sells on a subscription basis and reports a single segment. It was incorporated in Delaware in September 2009 and is based in San Jose, California.
Products
Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure pools the compute, storage and networking of a cluster of servers into one system, and includes the AOS storage software, the AHV hypervisor, disaster recovery, Flow network security and virtual networking, and Nutanix Cloud Clusters, which runs the platform on public clouds including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. A version of it also works with qualified outside storage, including Dell Technologies PowerFlex and PowerStore platforms and Everpure, Inc. FlashArray storage systems. Its other products include Nutanix Cloud Manager for operations, automation and cloud cost control; the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform for containerized applications; Nutanix Enterprise AI for fine-tuning and running AI models, including Nutanix Agent Gateway, which governs how AI agents reach language models and tools; Nutanix Unified Storage for file, object and block storage; and Nutanix Database Service.
