    What the company does

Vicor designs, develops, makes and sells modular power components and power systems that convert electrical power, for example turning alternating current from a wall outlet into the stable direct current that electronic devices need, or converting one DC voltage into others. It groups its products as Advanced Products and Brick Products, and it also licenses its technology to customers for royalties. It was incorporated in Delaware in 1981, went public in May 1991, and is headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, where its manufacturing facility is. Its common stock is listed on The NASDAQ Stock Market under the ticker VICR, and its Class B common stock is not listed on any exchange.

    Products

Advanced Products are built around its Factorized Power Architecture (FPA), which is focused on 48V DC power distribution and splits the power conversion process into separate components to raise efficiency and power density. They are aimed at microprocessor-based applications where energy efficiency and computing density matter. Brick Products are brick-format DC-DC converters and related components for AC line rectification, filtering, power factor correction and transient protection, used in conventional power architectures, which it also builds into complete power systems.
