What the company does

Capri Holdings Limited is a global fashion luxury group made up of two brands, Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo. Michael Kors accounted for approximately 83% of total revenue in Fiscal 2026 and Jimmy Choo for approximately 17%. The company had approximately 11,200 employees at the end of the year.

How the business is organised

Capri reports two segments, Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo. Michael Kors was launched in 1981 and describes its roots as an American luxury sportswear house. Jimmy Choo began in 1996 and is a British luxury footwear and accessories brand. Corporate costs that cannot be tied to either brand, such as certain administrative, shared service and information technology expenses, are held outside the segments.

The company also owned the Versace business. Its Board decided in April 2025 to sell Versace to Prada, and the sale was completed on 2 December 2025. Versace is reported as discontinued operations.

What it sells

By product category, accessories made up 55.8% of total revenue, footwear 24.6%, apparel 12.8% and other products 6.8%. The other category includes licensed watches, jewelry, eyewear and fragrances, plus licensing revenue.

Michael Kors has three primary collections: Michael Kors Collection, MICHAEL Michael Kors and Michael Kors Mens. Handbags and small leather goods are the main accessories. Jimmy Choo is anchored by women's luxury footwear, with handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, belts and men's footwear and accessories alongside. Women's accessories were approximately 20% of Jimmy Choo revenues, and the company says its goal is to raise that to at least 30% over time.

Some categories are made by licensees. Fossil holds the Michael Kors watch and jewelry licence, Luxottica the eyewear and EuroItalia the fragrance. Interparfums SA holds the Jimmy Choo fragrance and beauty licence and EssilorLuxottica SA the eyewear licence.

Who it sells to and where

Michael Kors has a presence in over 100 countries. Its wholesale partners include Bloomingdale's, Dillard's, Macy's, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue in North America, and Galeries Lafayette, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Printemps and Selfridges in Europe. Some of these carry the brands in shop-in-shops with specially trained staff.

The company groups its markets as the Americas, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia (Asia and Oceania).

- Michael Kors: 257 in the Americas, 138 in EMEA and 278 in Asia, 673 in total. - Jimmy Choo: 41 in the Americas, 64 in EMEA and 106 in Asia, 211 in total.

Michael Kors operates 342 full price stores (including concessions) and 331 outlet stores. Jimmy Choo operates 155 full price stores and 56 outlets. Michael Kors Collection stores average approximately 3,200 gross square feet, lifestyle stores approximately 2,600 and outlets approximately 4,300. Jimmy Choo stores average approximately 1,500. Sales are generally greater in the third fiscal quarter because of holiday season demand.

How products are made and delivered

Both brands mostly buy finished goods from independent third-party manufacturing contractors, who generally handle the whole process, including buying piece goods and trim. Nearly all Michael Kors products were produced in Asia. Its largest contractor made approximately 14% of its finished products, and one buying agent sourced approximately 14% of its finished goods purchases.

Jimmy Choo products come from owned Italian ateliers and footwear manufacturers as well as outside contractors. Most are produced by specialists in Italy, with other factories across Europe and a small portion in Asia. The company owns two luxury footwear manufacturing facilities in Italy.

Michael Kors distributes in the United States from a leased facility in Whittier, California, and in Europe from a company-owned facility in the Netherlands. Jimmy Choo's primary distribution facility is also company-owned and in the Netherlands, and its regional warehouses in the United States, Canada, China and Japan are run by third parties.

Virtually all imported products are subject to duties or tariffs. The majority of products sold in the United States come from countries where tariffs were announced, including Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Bangladesh, where the primary Michael Kors manufacturers are located.

How it competes

The company says it competes on style, price, customer service, quality and brand prestige and recognition. In wholesale it competes with many manufacturers, importers and distributors for limited display space. It says the general availability of manufacturing contractors gives new entrants easy access to its markets. It also says it believes it has significant competitive advantages because of brand recognition and consumer acceptance.

Marketing uses what the company calls a 360-degree strategy across advertising, social media, celebrity dressing, special events and direct marketing. Michael Kors holds semi-annual runway shows. The company owns the MICHAEL KORS and JIMMY CHOO trademarks and pursues counterfeiters in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Its people

Of the approximately 11,200 employees, approximately 7,100 are full-time and approximately 4,100 are part-time. Approximately 8,100 work in retail selling and administrative roles. Approximately 1,900 are covered by collective bargaining agreements in certain European countries. The Compensation and Talent Committee of the Board oversees human capital matters.
