What the company does
Uranium Energy Corp (UEC) is a uranium mining and development company. It has three in-situ recovery (ISR) "hub and spoke" platforms, one in South Texas and two in Wyoming, with licensed production capacity of approximately 12.1 million pounds per year across the Wyoming and South Texas platforms. It also holds a land and resource portfolio in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan, Canada, anchored by the Roughrider Project.
How it mines uranium
UEC uses ISR mining at its South Texas and Wyoming projects. Oxidized water is circulated through an underground uranium deposit, which dissolves the uranium. The uranium-rich solution is pumped to the surface and passed through ion exchange columns, where the uranium bonds to resin beads. Loaded resin is trucked to a central processing plant, where the uranium is stripped from the resin, precipitated, filtered, dried and packed in 55-gallon metal drums as uranium concentrate, or yellowcake.
It says ISR involves no blasting or waste rock movement and produces no tailings. After mining, each production area goes through aquifer restoration and a stability period of no less than one year.
Where it operates
In South Texas, the Hobson CPP is the hub for the Palangana Mine and the Burke Hollow Mine. It has a physical capacity of up to two million pounds of U3O8 a year in resin processing and is licensed for up to four million pounds. In Wyoming, the Irigaray CPP is the hub for the Christensen Ranch Mine and the Reno Creek, Moore Ranch and Ludeman Projects, and is licensed for four million pounds a year. The third platform is the Sweetwater Mill in Wyoming, acquired from Rio Tinto America Inc. in December 2024. It is configured for conventional mining and is being refurbished to accept ISR production.
Production restarted at Christensen Ranch in August 2024 and began at Burke Hollow in April 2026. Total production since commissioning is 359,260 pounds of precipitated uranium and dried and drummed U3O8. In Canada, the company holds interests in the Shea Creek, Christie Lake, Horseshoe Raven, Millennium and Wheeler River Projects, besides Roughrider. It also holds mineral rights in Arizona, New Mexico and the Republic of Paraguay. In Paraguay, the mining regulator MOPC has taken the position that certain concessions are not eligible for extension, and the company has filed applications and appeals to reverse that.
How it earns money
The company reports two segments: mining, which covers uranium exploration and mining, and corporate, which covers investments and the trading of purchased uranium inventory. Its reported sales come from the Physical Uranium Program, in which it buys drummed uranium at prevailing spot prices and sells it later. It held 1,256,000 pounds of purchased uranium as of 31 July 2026. No uranium produced at Christensen Ranch or Burke Hollow has been sold.
The company had no uranium purchase or sale agreements in place at 31 July 2026. It says future sales are expected to generally occur through spot market pricing mechanisms in short-term or long-term contracts. It describes its strategy as 100% unhedged. It has not established proven or probable reserves for any project and remains an exploration stage issuer as defined by the SEC.
Refining, conversion and investments
Through its wholly owned subsidiary United States Uranium Refining & Conversion Corp. (UR&C), the company is pursuing the feasibility of a uranium refining and conversion facility in the United States. A conceptual study envisions an initial capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes of uranium per year. UR&C works with engineering partner Fluor Enterprises, Inc. and has a combined project team of 63 members. It received a docket number from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on 18 March 2026. The company says the project will move forward only if several factors fall into place, including regulatory approvals, utility contracts and favorable market conditions.
As of 31 July 2026 it owned 6,500,737 common shares of Anfield Energy Inc., about 32.6% of the outstanding shares. It also owned 28,967,375 shares of Uranium Royalty Corp., a 7.6% interest.
Competition and regulation
The company says the uranium industry is highly competitive. Its competitors include larger, more established companies that explore for, produce and market uranium. It also competes for equipment, materials and skilled personnel.
Its operations are regulated by federal, state, provincial and foreign authorities. In Texas these include the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Railroad Commission of Texas. In Wyoming they include the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. In Canada the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission is the federal nuclear regulator. Sweetwater is in the federal FAST-41 and National Environmental Policy Act permitting process led by the Bureau of Land Management.
Its people
Of the 257 employees, 201 were in the United States, 36 in Canada and 20 in Paraguay.
